Take out mountain insurance and protect yourself for the case of unforeseen events and injuries. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>There are 2 mountain insurance categories that insurance companies offer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>\u2013 basic <\/strong>(regular tourists, hiking along marked trails)<\/li><li><strong>\u2013 extreme <\/strong>(climbing, ski touring, other adrenalin sports)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Even a small injury that happens in the mountains can cost you a lot because regular public health or travel insurance doesn\u2019t cover the costs of the Mountain Rescue Service related to rescuing or searching. The so called \u201ctechnical action\u201d costs (transport on stretchers, searching, air transport) has to be paid by every individual who happens to be in the mountains. This obligation does not apply to the minors \u2013 children and individuals without legal capacity. <br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HOW TO TAKE OUT INSURANCE  <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From 1<sup>st<\/sup> June 2020, <strong>every person who stays at an accommodation establishment in the town of Vysok\u00e9 Tatry<\/strong> and is registered as a guest paying the local accommodation tax <strong>is collectively insured for search and rescue by the Mountain Rescue Service. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The town of Vysok\u00e9 Tatry consists of settlements that stretch from\nTatransk\u00e1 Kotlina to Popradsk\u00e9 Pleso. Don\u2019t forget to check with your\naccommodation provider if they are registered for the local tax in the town of Vysok\u00e9\nTatry. <strong>Please note that\n\u0160trbsk\u00e9 Pleso does not belong to the town of Vysok\u00e9 Tatry!<\/strong>&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every person\nwho<strong> stays at an\naccommodation establishment in the town of Vysok\u00e9 Tatry and pays the local tax\nis automatically insured for any Mountain Rescue Service activity. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GENERALI mountain insurance can be taken out in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/en\/turisticke-informacie\/tourist-information-centres\/\">Tatra information centres<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visit our <strong>Tatra information centres in Star\u00fd Smokovec and Tatransk\u00e1\nLomnica or the information centre in \u0160trbsk\u00e9 Pleso<\/strong>, where the staff will\npersonally advise you which type of the mountain insurance (basic vs. extreme)\nis the best for you.
