It is not only human creations that are worth admiring. Mother Nature has created real masterpieces too. It is the largest castle complex in Central Europe and was included in the UNESCO World cultural and natural heritage list in 1993. When taking a tour along preserved majestic ruins, one can climb to an attractive observatory tower or visit an exposition of archaeological finds and weapons, the castle torture chamber and the Gothic chapel of St. Elizabeth. A road runs to the castle from the town of Spi\u0161sk\u00e9 Podhradie. It features the Roman cathedral of St. Martin, which is on the UNESCO list. It is opened daily from 9:00 to 16:30 and accessible via a road from the town of Spi\u0161sk\u00e9 Podhradie.<br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"599\" src=\"https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/levoca.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5870\" style=\"width:400px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/levoca.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/levoca-300x175.jpg 300w, https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/levoca-768x449.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Levo\u010da<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The oldest archaeological findings of Levo\u010da date back to the 9th century. The historical centre of the town was declared a conservation area in 1950. The castle system is well preserved with six of fifteen bastions and towers including three gates. At the Church of St. Jacob (UNESCO) in the middle of the square, there is the highest Gothic altar in the world (18.62 m) made of lime wood in the workshop of Master Paul of Levo\u010da in the 16th century. The so called Marian hill with a cathedral rises above the town. The biggest Marian pilgrimage in Slovakia takes place here. Even Pope Jean Paul II visited it in 1995. It takes about 30 min to get there from Poprad by car.<br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/hrad-lubovna2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5902\" style=\"width:400px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/hrad-lubovna2.jpg 900w, https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/hrad-lubovna2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/hrad-lubovna2-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Star\u00e1 \u013dubov\u0148a<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Castle of \u013dubov\u0148a built in the early 14th century is the dominant feature of the own. Polish crown jewels used to be stored there in the past and the well known Slovak traveller Maurice Benyovszky was imprisoned in the castle. Visitors can have a look at the renewed palace and castle brewery. One tour is about 80 minutes long. Below the castle, there is an open-air museum which presents folk architecture mixture of the North-East Spi\u0161 region and the North-West \u0160ari\u0161 region. One can see dwellings, a blacksmith\u00b4s forge, a mill and a cabinetmaker\u00b4s workshop which were brought there from the whole area. The castle is opened daily from 9:00 to 19:00. Once can learn there about the history of alcohol production from the past until the present and enjoy a special reward at the end of the tour \u2013 drink tasting of Nestville production. The park is opened daily from 9:00 to 17:00 and one tour is about 90 minutes long. It takes about 50 minutes to get there from Poprad by car.<br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/demanovskadolina.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5876\" style=\"width:400px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/demanovskadolina.jpg 800w, https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/demanovskadolina-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/demanovskadolina-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dem\u00e4novsk\u00e1 dolina (valley)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dem\u00e4novsk\u00e1 dolina is the most beautiful valley in the Low Tatras. It is 16 km long and located in the National Park of the Low Tatras, which contains precious natural jewels such as Dem\u00e4novsk\u00fd kras (karst), Vrbick\u00e9 pleso (tarn), Dem\u00e4novsk\u00e1 jasky\u0148a slobody (cave) and Dem\u00e4novsk\u00e1 \u013eadov\u00e1 jasky\u0148a (ice cave). The area offers cableway trips, there is a bike park and various marked tourist trails. It takes about 50 minutes to get there from Poprad by car.<br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1357\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/slovenskyraj.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5878\" style=\"width:400px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/slovenskyraj.jpg 1357w, https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/slovenskyraj-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/slovenskyraj-768x509.jpg 768w, https:\/\/regiontatry.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/slovenskyraj-1024x679.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1357px) 100vw, 1357px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Slovensk\u00fd raj<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the northern section of the mountain range of Slovensk\u00e9 rudohorie, between the town of Spi\u0161sk\u00e1 Nov\u00e1 Ves and the villages of Hranovnica and Dob\u0161in\u00e1, there is a limestone mountain range that was named Slovak Paradise. It is a manifold karst area with a lot of gorges, chasms, narrow valleys and canyons as well as preserved plains that are rich in karst formations. There is about 300 km of marked tourist trails. The Slovak Paradise is accessible from the villages of Podlesok or \u010cingov. One day is enough to enjoy a cable car trip to Mt.
