These were usually poachers, later even members of the local intelligentsia, e.g. teachers, priests and mainly professors of the Lyceum of Ke\u017emarok, who would take their pupils to the mountains. Mountain guides, who hadn\u00b4t been registered before, got united by the so called Hungarian Carpathian Society in 1873.
