Chata pod Soliskom (1 840 m n. m.)

The Chalet below Mt Solisko (Chata pod Soliskom 1 840 m n. m.) is the youngest high-altitude chalet in the High Tatras, located on the southern slope of Mt Predné Solisko at the altitude of 1,840 metres above sea level, near an upper chairlift station. It is an ideal place for mountain, hiking and skiing lovers, offering stunning views and comfortable facilities.

The chalet (1,840 metres above sea level) was built alongside the second chairlift operating from Štrbské Pleso to Mt Predné Solisko. It was opened to the public in 1944, near the then-longest ski lift in former Czechoslovakia. In 2003, a new chalet was constructed on the original site, which still serves visitors today.

The chalet is open all year round, making it an ideal destination for tourists, skiers and mountain enthusiasts in every season. It also serves as the starting point of the popular hike to Mt Predné Solisko.

Access:

  • With a chairlift from Štrbské Pleso: A quick and convenient way to reach the chalet directly.
  • On foot from Štrbské Pleso: A blue-market hiking trail running through Furkotská dolina (valley) (Ascent time approx. 1:30 h and 4 km)
