Chata pri Zelenom plese

The Chalet at Zelené pleso (tarn) (1,551 m), known as Brnčalka, is located at the bank of Zelené pleso (tarn) below the majestic northern face of Mt Malý Kežmarský štít in Dolina Zeleného pleso (Valley of the Green Tarn). It is an ideal place for nature lovers, hikers, climbers and ski mountaineers. It was originally named after Andrej Brnčal, a member of the Tatra Climber Association.

The chalet is open all year round and offers comfortable accommodation on 56 beds. Guests can relax in cosy rooms or in the common room, where they can enjoy the pleasant mountain atmosphere.

The chalet is a crossroads of several important hiking trails and serves as an ideal starting point for various activities:

  • Hiking: Explore the surrounding trails, such as the climb to Mt Jahňací štít with stunning views, or head along the Tatra arterial trail to Skalnaté pleso or the Belianske Tatras, to the Plesnivec Chalet and Veľké Biele pleso (tarn).
  • Climbing: The proximity of rocks and well-known climbing routes makes the chalet a favourite among climbers.
  • Ski mountaineering: Veľká a Malá Zmrzlá dolina (valleys) are ideal for ski mountaineers seeking a challenge in unspoiled nature.

Access

  • The chalet is easily accessible via the yellow-marked trail running from the Biela Voda stop. It takes approximately 3 hours and covers 7.7 km.
