Téryho chata (2 015 m n. m.)

Téry’s chalet (Téryho chata) is the highest-located mountain chalet open all year round. It is located in Malá Studená dolina (valley) at the altitude of 2,015 metres above sea level, near Päť Spišských plies (tarns).

It offers year-round accommodation in shared rooms, but due to the limited capacity, advance booking is required. The chalet has a dining room for 50 people, where hot meals, drinks and souvenirs can be purchased. There is also a Mountain Rescue Service centre. The chalet is run by Peter Michalka these days and is supplied by mountain load bearers all year round.

The surroundings of the chalet are ideal for hiking, climbing, ski mountaineering or peaceful relaxation by the lakes. One can feast their eyes on surrounding peaks such as Lomnický štít, Pyšný štít, Baranie rohy and Ľadový štít.

From the chalet, tourists can continue either to Priečne sedlo (saddle) and Zbojnícka chalet or to Modré pleso (tarn) and Sedielko (saddle) and then through Javorová dolina (valley) to Tatranská Javorina. However, this would be a challenging all-day hike. The chalet is accessible all year round, but don't forget your winter gear in the winter.
