Safely guided through the Tatra Mountains and other European mountain ranges

From the Tatra peaks to challenging ridge hikes

The High Tatras Mountain Guides Association brings together professionals who guide clients to the highest peaks in the Tatras, on exposed ridge hikes, and on technical climbing ascents. The association offers routes for both beginners and experienced mountain enthusiasts, including winter ascents and ski mountaineering tours.

The association was founded in 1993 and builds on a tradition of organized mountain guiding in the High Tatras dating back approximately 150 years. For more than three decades, its guides have safely led thousands of clients across the Tatra peaks and other European mountain ranges.

Hike Reservation

Before placing an order, you can submit a non-binding inquiry. You will then agree on the specific route, date, number of participants, and conditions of the hike. The full price or the required deposit is due at the time of booking.

Hiking Gear

The mountain guide provides a harness and helmet. Each participant must bring their own equipment, depending on the season and the chosen hike. In winter, sturdy footwear, warm layers, and waterproof clothing are required.

Weather and Safety

The hike may be modified or cut short due to inclement weather or the client’s lack of preparation. Insurance covering the costs of a Mountain Rescue Service operation is included in the price during the hike.
