Rafting Route from Červený Kláštor to Lesnica
The Pieniny Mountains are a place where the Dunajec River brings together nature, history, and Goral traditions
The Pieniny Mountains are among the most picturesque natural areas in Slovakia. Although they are our smallest national park in terms of area, they are home to striking rock cliffs, rare wildlife, and the unique Dunajec Gorge. Here, the river winds its way between Slovakia and Poland, creating stunning scenery with views of the Three Crowns, Sokolica, and other peaks in the Pieniny Mountains.
The most famous activity here is a rafting trip down the Dunajec River on traditional wooden rafts. The approximately 10-kilometer journey from Červený Kláštor to Lesnica takes 90 to 120 minutes. During the trip, rafters dressed in Goral folk costumes share local legends and interesting facts about nature. However, you can also explore the Pieniny on foot or by bike along the trail beside the Dunajec River, by visiting the Carthusian monastery, or by hiking to the Polish Tri Koruny.
