Experience the charm of the Dunajec Gorge up close

The nature trail, also known as the Pieniny Trail, follows the course of the Dunajec River through the stunning landscape of the Pieniny National Park. Ten informational stops provide insights into the river and its wildlife, the forests on the slopes of Holica, the area’s natural treasures, and points of interest associated with the sites of Huta, Siedmi mnísi, and Storočný prameň.

During the walk, views open up onto rocky cliffs, forested slopes, and the river winding its way between Slovakia and Poland. The trail is easy, runs parallel to the red hiking trail, and ends at the confluence of the Lesnický Stream and the Dunajec River, where there is a raft landing.

Difficulty of the route

The trail runs mostly through easy terrain along the Dunajec River and has only a slight elevation gain. Thanks to its compacted gravel surface, it is also suitable for a leisurely family stroll.

Access to the sidewalk

The trailhead is located at the entrance to the Dunajec Gorge, not far from Červený Kláštor. The trail continues along the red hiking trail through Huta to the mouth of the Lesnický Stream.

Movement along the route

The trail is used by both pedestrians and cyclists. Stay on the right side, be aware of your surroundings, and give others plenty of space when passing.
