A short walk from Tatranská Lomnica leads past the lower station of the first cable car to Skalnaté pleso and continues toward the meadows near Tatranské Matliare. The trail remains in a foothill setting, has no significant inclines, and is classified as a short hike suitable even for families with small children.

After about 45 minutes, you’ll reach more open countryside on the outskirts of Tatranské Matliare. From there, you can return the same way or continue along the trail beside Cesta slobody to complete the entire Lomnický Circuit. The entire round-trip hike takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes and involves an elevation gain of only about 50 meters.

The 2.02 km distance and 45-minute hike correspond to the route from Tatranská Lomnica to the meadows near Matliare. On the return trip, expect the distance to be roughly double and the total time to be around 90 minutes.

A Family Walk

This trail is classified as a short hike lasting up to two hours, which can be enjoyed even with small children. However, the surface may be wet after rain and uneven in some places.

An easy trail with minimal elevation gain

The hike leads from Tatranská Lomnica eastward toward Tatranské Matliare. Along this approximately two-kilometer stretch, the scenery alternates between the Tatra village, the forest edge, and open meadows. The elevation gain is minimal, and there are no long or steep climbs along the route.

From the meadows, you can return the same way or complete the Lomnický Circuit by taking the trail along Cesta slobody. The second option offers a more varied walk without having to retrace the entire section in the same direction.
